For writing, I charge by the project or by the hour, depending on the task, deadline, and complexity of the project.

For any documentation editing or writing project, try to have the following specifics available before you inquire.
- Type of document (novel, term paper, thesis, dissertation, journal article, magazine article, nonfiction book, technical manual, marketing document, business correspondence, and so on)
- Intended audience or name of journal/magazine/newspaper
- Estimated or actual number of pages
- Estimated or actual word count
- Preferred/proposed deadline(s)
